Lucy Darling is the alter ego of Clarisa Hendricks, creating her to combine with her magic show. Initially she was just one of many characters she thought up. Lucy Darling was influenced by a few Hollywood Golden Era ballsy dames, obviously Mae West, Barbara Stanwyck etc. A more left field influence is John De Lancie, who if you are a Trekkie, is the actor who plays Q in many a series. Once you know this, you can see how this might feed into Lucy Darling's derision and frankness. Slowly over the years her magic show has developed so there is now quite a substantial amount of crowdwork. It's probably what most people come for. For as you will see, Lucy Darling, is very quick witted, and insults and plays her audience perfectly. Lucy Darling is one of my favourites things to tap into whenever I need cheering up.
