As the North Norfolk exhibition season nears it's end, Cromer Artspace pulls off it's second great gallery show of the year. North Norfolk, is perhaps unusually blessed with a broad range of artists using textile as their primary medium. And the Cliff Edge displays this in it's full diversity. From embroidered blocks, to a worn nurses apron barely held together with stitches, salt encrusted funnels of cloth, large quilted hangings, a crocheted Ronald McDonald monkey, beautiful felted embroidered and expressive shapes, figures made out of onion net fabric,
Both large scale and small scale works. It covers a huge range of styles and approaches to working with fabric as a medium. This exhibition certainly showed you what was possible. From purely aesthetic explorations to more polemical political works. As composite exhibitions go, this was one of the best.
