In my vacuous empty headed scrolling through You Tube in the early hours, I come across many many things that truly baffle me. Mainly why they thought this was a remotely interesting thing to do, let alone post. Why bother?, came to mind when I watched this particular video. This person makes a lot of this type of video where they take their wood turning skills and apply them to a totally unworthy source material.
Here they take layers of brightly coloured fabric, which they then soak in plasticy resin goop. Once this has set solid they fix it to a lathe and chisel huge amounts of it off, in long endlessly spilling strands of plastic, and after many minutes end up with a very rough looking garishly coloured bowel shape. But this is not the end, they fill in this rough cut with more plasticy resin goop and give it yet another go, as though all this needed was just a little more refinement. Yeh, its a bit smoother and shiny, it has novelty value, but its still a pigs ear. I mean was this really worth all that effort?
